ScanM2 used point cloud technology during an interior design project at the Dalma Mall Kids Zone in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The surveyed area covered approximately 25,830 sq ft and required accurate documentation before the space was redesigned and specialized equipment was installed.
High-precision 3D laser scanning captured the existing interior and generated a detailed point cloud containing millions of spatial measurements. The dataset recorded the geometry required by the design team, including structural elements and visible HVAC systems.
Partially clad columns presented an additional challenge. Accurate information about the exposed portions was required to establish the underlying column dimensions, with measurements captured to a tolerance of approximately 2 mm.
